McAuliffe’s Overseas Trip Results in New Export Deals

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that Gov. McAuliffe has secured new export deals for several companies as a result of his trip overseas.

Virginia state officials spent four in the United Kingdom striking deals for many Virginia businesses. Buena-Vista-based company Micron Bio-Systems Inc., which produces additives for animal feed, made a deal with Bio4Globe, a farm supplies distributor in France, Spain and Portugal.

Norfolk-based gluten- and allergen-free cookie company Dr. Lucy’s locked in a distribution with the U.K.’s largest wholesaler of organic foods, Tree of Life Ltd.

U.K. fine-food wholesaler will feature Courtland-based Feridies’ extra-large gourmet Virginia peanuts in their 2014 Christmas catalog.

Additionally, McAuliffe and other Virginia officials met with electric utility representatives to discuss increasing export of Virginia’s wood pellets to help generate power in Europe
