Virginia gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli (R.) finds himself in hot water…again. This time, more of Cuccinelli’s emails to a natural gas company have been found.
According to The Bristol Herald-Courier, Cuccinelli’s assistant sent “dozens” of emails to lawyers of natural gas companies now involved in a class action lawsuit over royalties in southwest Virginia.
These emails are in addition to the five emails offering legal advice over which Cuccinelli has already been criticized.
The magistrate judge decided that many of these emails do not meet the “common interest doctrine.” Cuccinelli insists his staffer’s actions fit in with the doctrine and allowed her to “ethically communicate” with the gas companies.
