Gubernatorial candidates Ken Cuccinelli and Terry McAuliffe reached out to young voters through a Google hangout on Wednesday. The online platform, sponsored by Virginia21, enabled the candidates to discuss higher education through a live stream video. Speaking separately, both candidates stressed the “need to keep tuition and student debt low while maintaining high quality educational standards at the state’s public universities,” according to Daily Press. However, neither candidate mentioned specific ways or policies to reach that goal. Although there were a some technical difficulties during the event, most students considered the event informative.
